Meet the NEW Bookmobile

The new blue Library Bookmobile with the slogan "Take me to your reader" displayed on its roof.

In December of 2023, a NEW Mother Goose style Bookmobile arrived! It is 36 feet long, that is 11 feet longer than the Voyager was.  With more options, such as audio/visual equipment, solar generator, and 3 entrances (one of which is wheelchair accessible), the New Bookmobile will be able to serve patrons more effectively in the coming years.  It also can hold a whopping 3000 books and other materials for all ages.  It went into full service in February of 2024, visiting its first stop, Cairo School.

The Bookmobile makes monthly stops at various elementary schools, daycare centers, private schools, and retirement homes in Malheur County.

Books may be checked out from the Bookmobile with a current Ontario Library District library card. Adults and children are welcome at all Bookmobile stops. Check out the online Bookmobile Calendar to find a Bookmobile stop near you.

Please remember all library rules do apply. Patrons of the Bookmobile may request items and place holds. Bookmobile books can be returned to the libraries in Ontario, Vale and Nyssa if patrons wish to do so. It is funded by the Ontario Library District and Malheur County budgets.

If you have questions, comments or you would like to make a request please contact the Library at 541-889-6371 or email at: ontariobookmobile@gmail.com.
