The Ontario Library District is pleased to provide 15 computers for public use. The internet offers access to many valuable sources of information, but all sites are not accurate, complete or current. Many sites may carry information that you may think is controversial or inappropriate. We encourage users to exercise good judgment and discretion appropriate to a public library. We encourage parents to supervise their children's internet sessions.

Wireless Internet - The library has wireless internet.  Please ask at desk for access information.   

Public Use Computers – Information and Rules

  • Please check in at the front desk before using the computers. First come - first serve.
  • All computers have basic internet access. If you need a specific program, please inquire about this when checking in at the desk.
  • Please bring your own headphones and flash drives. 
  • Adult and Teen (16 and over) patrons who have a current library card and signed Internet Guidelines form may use the computers for 1 hour per day per individual.
    • Visiting adults and Teens (16 and over) may use the computers without a library card for up to 30 minutes per day per individual.
  • Child (15 and under) patrons who wish to use the computers must have a current library card and parent signed Internet Guidelines form on file.
    • Visiting children without cards may use the computers for 30 minutes per day in the presence of their parents. 
    • Currently the library Board of Directors has voted to not allow children (15 and under) on ‘MySpace’ sites.
    • Children on inappropriate sites will have their library card taken and parents contacted.
  • Please remember you are in a public area on public computers. 
  • Respect others when having conversations or using cellphones.
  • Special circumstances (families, extended time periods) will be taken on a per incidence basis and handled by staff. 
  • Computer internet privileges can be revoked at any time by Library staff and guidelines are subject to change at any time.
  • Printing 
    • All computers have access to a Black and White Printer. · 
    • Cost of each page printed is .20 cents. 
    • Please check carefully before printing – ask staff for help if necessary

Card Catalog Computers  

  • Designated Card Catalog computers are available
  • The Card Catalog can be reach directly from any computer on the internet at

Law Library Computer  

  • A designated computer for Malheur County Court information and West Law Library searches has been provided by the Malheur County Law Library upon recommendation from Malheur County Bar Association. The Law Library computer is only used for legal research.
  • Please check in at the desk to use this service.
