Friends of the Ontario Community Library

You can’t have too many friends, and neither can our library!

You have probably heard mention of the Friends around the library or on library posters… What could they mean… what kind of friend?  Is anyone a friend?  Why would a library need friends…. The truth is everyone needs friends– individuals who like, support and share in the events and life of another.  Even a library needs assistance, affection and advocates. But what does it mean to be a ‘Friend’ of the library?

Friends of the Ontario Community Library (Friends or FoL) provide support for the library in a variety of ways including purchasing magazines, books, upgrading facilities and technology, and sponsoring or supporting activities.  Some of the activities we are currently involved in are: American Girl Part, Author Visits, Book/Yard Sale, Community & Kids Library Night, National Library Week, Ontario Oregon Reads, Summer Reading Program, Winter Reading Program
